Labor Day Weekend 2008
Jake is ranked as the #8 Golden in the UKC system for 2009

Both Jake and Haley compete in the UKC Champion class and are competing for their Grand Champion titles.  We thought that Jake would win his Grand Champion title this weekend as there were 6 shows in all.  Well, confidence and a buck-and-a-half will get you a cup of coffee.  Jake did well this weekend, gathering in 4 champion points and Best-of-Breed 4 times, a Group 4, 2 Group 3's, and a Group 2.

As you can see by Haley's "Happy Dance" with Marika above, she beat Jake in show 5 and garnered her first point in her UKC Grand Champion title chase.  She is also the reason Jake didn't get his title this weekend, he was on a roll.  But our little missy did not want to be outshined.

Steve doesn't get in the ring as a rule and does so only when Marika can't run both dogs at once as was the case in the champion class.  Both Haley and Jake are UKC Champions and trying to get their Grand Champion title first.  Currently Jake leads 4 to 1, however, Haley is NOT intimidated as her win in show 5 proves

After a hard three day weekend in the ring everyone just wants to catch their breath.  Everything that's precious to me is right here, except for my wife... behind every good man is a woman, right dear?
(at least that's what she tells me!!)
